Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The mission of the School of Social Work is to advance equity, transform systems, improve lives. Classes provide rigorous and evidence-based content, and give students the opportunity to explore theory, learn intervention skills and engage in challenging dialogue with colleagues.
Position Summary
The School of Social Work at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites nominations and applications for an open Rank Fixed Term Teaching Faculty position (12 months). This fixed-term faculty will be responsible for teaching 7 courses per year. We are seeking applicants with direct social work experience and the ability to teach primarily in the Generalist and Direct practice (DP) curriculum areas. Applicants with clinical practice backgrounds and the ability to teach within the Direct Practice concentration will be assigned to teach a range of Master's of Social Work Direct Practice courses in our in-person and online programs. Applicants must have demonstrated skills to teach social work coursework and clinical social work practice. Knowledge and skills relevant to teach Master of Social Work level theory and practice classes, among other clinical practice modalities, is desired. Other duties in addition to teaching include service and committee work. This position will be reviewed annually for reappointment. 
Salary is competitive and will be commensurate with experience.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Applicants must possess a Master of Social Work degree from an accredited Council of Social Work Education ( CSWE) social work program and have a minimum 5-year post- MSW direct practice experience.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Licensed Clinical Social Worker ( LCSW) and previous experience teaching graduate courses is preferred.
