Under the general supervision of the Information Technology Supervisor II (IT Sup II), the Staff Services Manager I (SSM I) is responsible for planning, organizing, and supporting the California Department of Technology's (CDT's) External Workforce Development customized bootcamp program.
The SSM I must maintain an open and learning mindset, effectively communicate verbally and in writing, strive to master specific competency and skill levels, and perform well under pressure, all while working in a fast paced and multitasking environment.

Working Conditions

  • Requires use of personal computer, content management, and training tools.
  • Requires professional conduct and attire, as defined in CDT attire guidelines, as incumbent will interact with internal and external management/executives as well as the public.
  • Requires the incumbent to be flexible, use good time management practices, and complete assignments timely and accurately.
  • Position allows telework; however, incumbent must be available and willing to go into any CDT office or designated office location for specific activities.
  • Requires sitting for long periods using of personal computer.
  • Must be willing to work overtime as necessary to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Travel between CDT locations may be required.

Skills and Experience:
  • Experience in an enterprise training arena with multiple programs, courseware, and a broad spectrum of customers.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal writing, communication and follow up skills; must be comfortable interacting with all levels of staff within the organization.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft products, specifically: SharePoint, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and other related applications.
  • Experience in facilitating online meeting and events using Zoom, Microsoft Teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with great attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated out of the box thinking and the ability to propose new marketing ideas and various training delivery methods to promote the training center.
