This position serves as the Onsite Wastewater Technical Support Liaison, providing technical and professional services for the Environmental Affairs, Bureau of Environmental Health Services (BEHS) - Division of Compliance and Customer Support, in support of DHEC's vision: Healthy people living in healthy communities.
Job Functions:
- Assists with gathering information and data to be used to manage program workloads and direct program priorities.
- Generates reports and analyzes data to be shared with management for the purpose of coordinating work efforts with the regional offices.
- This job function includes the generation and analysis of data on a routine basis.
- Evaluates reports that are shared with Divisional and Bureau management to assist in identifying program needs.
- Collaborates with regional offices to evaluate staff workloads and productivity, assess resource needs, and identify areas with increased processing timeframes in order to coordinate appropriate support for accomplishing program goals.
- Participates in monitoring workloads for regional programs where low staffing is causing extended backlogs.
- Assists the Senior Consultant with the development and implementation of tools to support BEHS projects and objectives.
- Serves as a point of contact with internal and external customers and service providers to identify customer needs and ensure quality customer service is delivered.
- Provides support for the development and maintenance of SharePoint and ePermitting applications and trains staff in their use.
- A bachelor's degree in a related technical field;
- OR an associate degree in a related technical field and at least one (1) year of Environmental Health or related experience;
- OR a high school diploma or GED, and at least three (3) years of Environmental Health or related experience.

- Work in all reasonable weather conditions and access non-traditional work environments.
- May require:
- Daily travel throughout the state.
- Occasional overnight travel.
- Participation on the Environmental Response Team and is subject to on call or call back 24/7.
- This position will be headquartered in a BEHS regional or central office. However, the successful candidate may be required to travel frequently to attend meetings, trainings, or other activities, as needed. There may be occasional overnight travel.
- Data management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft office professional (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
