Job Description Summary

As the Pensacola Plant Leader, you will drive safe, high-quality, efficient operations at Onshore Wind’s largest manufacturing factory located in Pensacola, FL. This Plant Leader plays a key role in the U.S. and global supply chain within a rapid growth environment and capable of leading step change transformation as the factory delivers key turbine components for our industry-leading Onshore Wind business. As the Plant Leader, you will provide strong leadership to a multi-faceted team, shaping site culture, lead with LEAN, drive operation principles that enable execution, and further strengthen our continuous improvement mindset across all aspects of the factory and its operations. Finally, this leader will manage strong business investment to transform this facility to a GE Vernova benchmark.

GE’s Onshore Wind business has a total installed base of more than 50,000 wind turbines in more than 35 counties, with 100+ GW of global installed capacity. Essential Responsibilities

  • Establish and lead attainment of plant goals related to Business Priorities of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost (SQDC)
  • Support and establish operating mechanisms guarantee behaviors consistent with compliance, quality system and EHS requirements.
  • Drive operational strategy and rhythm to deliver for plant goals. Ensure that plant operating rhythm is effective and results in desired outcomes.
  • Control manufacturing processes through plans that consider personnel requirements, materials, sub-contracting, facilities, tooling and equipment.
  • Collaborate across all functions to include engineering, sourcing, and projects to effectively launch new products (NPI) and processes.
  • Provide strategic leadership and a vision across the site related to investments, workforce planning, technology, and all aspects of the plant.
  • Ensure alignment with the overall business S&OP, and deliver on financial commitments.
  • Work with customers and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver on-time with quality to our customers and meet business commitments.
  • Implement Lean-driven improvement opportunities founded by deep know-how in Lean principles and proven experience in Lean implementation/application.
  • Shape and build a strong culture focused on safety, quality, delivering on commitments, and continuous improvement while enabling and supporting high employee engagement.
  • Champion talent development across the team. Develop, coach, mentor, and guide team members to success outcomes.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related technical discipline
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant Manufacturing & Supply Chain experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant people leadership/managerial experience

  • Inclusive leadership style, proven ability to build a connection with the team through personal involvement and trust; ability to successfully maintain high morale, employee engagement, safety, and teamwork in mixed hourly and salaried environments.
  • Proactive collaborator who can demonstrate best practice sharing of SQDC across the factory network.
  •  A Lean mindset with a history of applying Lean tools to improve business operations.
  • The ability to effectively influence a wide range of stakeholders with a credible voice on key issues who can effectively engage with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven change management skills.
