Responsibilities:
Teach 9 hours per fall and spring semester, and 6 hours per summer semester.
Organization, administration, instruction, evaluation, continuous quality improvement, curriculum planning and development, directing other program faculty, and general effectiveness of the Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science program.
Participate in the budget preparation process.
Engage in documented continuing professional development as required for certification and or licensure in Medical Laboratory Science.
Maintain accreditation of the Medical Laboratory Science program.
Have regular and consistent contact with students and program faculty promoting professional development and teaching excellence.
Engage actively and successfully with the health care community.
Develop and assist with the supervision of student internships/practica.
Develop appropriate research and publication initiatives.
Develop and teach online courses.
Advise students enrolled in degree programs offered by the Department of Allied Health.
Participate in departmental meetings, discipline advisory committee meetings and other departmental activities as needed.
Assist with student organizations sponsored by the Department of Allied Health.
Requirements:
- Earned master's or doctoral degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related profession.
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS-ASCP).
- A documented record of excellence in teaching, particularly at the undergraduate level.
- An active and successful record of engagement with the health care community.
- At least three-years of teaching and/or practical experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist-Generalist.

The Online Medical Laboratory Science Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the activities of the Online Medical Laboratory Science Bachelor of Science program offered at LSUA.
