The Oncology Data Specialist is responsible for the direction and coordination of the Cancer Registry. Accurately identifies, collects, classifies codes, stages, analyzes, and abstracts clinical patient data for all malignant neoplasms, and other reportable diseases, diagnosed and or treated across all Tanner Medical Center, Inc. facilities by state and national cancer reporting guidelines.
Education:
Associate Degree or 2 years of college coursework
Experience:
One year of related experience. Requires a working knowledge of standard practices and procedures.
Licenses and Certifications
*Certified Tumor Registrar
Qualifications
*Computer knowledge and experience with Microsoft Windows and Excel.
*Familiarity with ICD-10 codes
*Ability to organize work and follow through on own initiative.
*Preference for routine, organized activities performed according to predetermined guidelines
*Must be able to use independent judgment.
*Must be dependable, accurate, cooperative, and require little to no supervision
