Job Overview: As an Onboarding Specialist at Great River Industries, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that new employees have a positive and productive onboarding experience. You will work closely with HR, department managers, and new hires to create a welcoming and efficient onboarding process. Your attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and commitment to our company culture will contribute to the success of our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- New Employee Orientation: Conduct new employee orientations to introduce company policies, procedures, and culture.
- Documentation and Compliance: Ensure all necessary paperwork, including I-9 forms, tax documents, and employee contracts, is completed accurately and in compliance with legal requirements.
- Training and Development: Collaborate with department managers to create and implement onboarding training programs tailored to each role within the organization.
- IT Setup: Coordinate IT setup for new employees, including computer equipment, software, email accounts, and access to necessary systems.
- Facilitate Integration: Act as a point of contact for new hires, answering their questions and providing support to help them integrate into the team.
- Benefit Enrollment: Assist employees with benefit enrollment and provide guidance on available benefits packages.
- Feedback and Improvement: Gather feedback from new employees and managers to continuously improve the onboarding process.
- Compliance and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of onboarding activities, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Onboarding Materials: Develop and update onboarding materials, including handbooks, presentations, and checklists.
- Cultural Ambassador: Champion and communicate the company's culture and values to new employees, reinforcing our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Special Projects and Tasks: Handle special projects and assignments as directed by the HR Manager.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in onboarding, HR, or a related role.
- Knowledge of HR best practices and employment laws.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
- Proficiency with HRIS (Human Resources Information System) software is a plus.
- A passion for helping employees succeed in their roles.
- Experience processing payroll is a plus.
