Job description

The Vice President is a senior member of the global onboarding team who will be primarily responsible for migrating or launching a client's business onto the JPM HFS business platform. The VP will be responsible for reviewing fund documentation, creating fund structure diagrams detailing the profit and loss allocation flows and initializing the application set ups. The VP will also be responsible for completing gap analysis on third party data establishing a balance sheet load at a point in time performing reconciliations and resolving all breaks.

The VP collaborates closely with the wider AIS line of business (Fund Accounting, Investor Relations, Compliance, Internal Audit, Operations, Private Equity and Real Estate) ensuring a smooth transition of the fund to a live environment.

Reporting to the Onboarding ED, you will be responsible for the following:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide a premier client service by building a strong relationship with the investment manager and any other third parties.
  • Understand the theoretical and technical nature of hedge fund administration and middle office functions.
  • Ensure all scheduled work is completed by agreed deadlines, checklists are signed and files contain all required information prior to closing an event and filing.
  • Flag any potential service delivery issues as early as possible, escalate with other team members and manager.
  • Adhere to deadlines, communicate delays to manager and ensure work is completed as expected.
  • Participate in cross training across the global onboarding team.
  • On-going review of daily controls and implementing updates. Identification of risks and implementation of remediation on the same.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities:
  • Bachelors degree required (business discipline preferred)
  • Extensive working knowledge of fund administration systems and NAV delivery process
  • Strong technical knowledge of the treatment of complex financial instruments
  • Strong client management skills and ability to build key relationships.
  • Experience with implementing process improvement methodology and/or demonstrated experience with efficiency improvement
  • Team player, professional and proactive approach to work, positive attitude with an ability to communicate across multiple sites
  • Very strong communication skills both oral and written

Preferred Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities:
  • Significant experience (7+ years) in the Financial Services industry, preferably with prior experience in alternative funds
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Extensive knowledge of hedge fund structures, products and the Fund Accounting end to end process
