The Plant Training and Onboarding Coordinator will collaborate with Plant Leadership and production employees to create, implement, and manage operator training programs for the Albany Lumber facility.
What You Will Do
- Proactively coach and work alongside Leaders and employees to drive results through the disciplined application of PBM. (principled based management)
- Development of OJT program that will collaborate with leadership in the development of position specific training materials to ensure alignment to individual roles, responsibilities, and expectations. Minimum 60% floor time working with employees.
- Ability to learn and operate equipment that will be conducive in training and developing new operators at their workstation.
- Partner with Human Resources, Environmental, and Health and Safety, and front-line supervisors on employee onboarding/new hire/role specific training
- Schedule, track, and manage retraining to employees based on supervisor feedback, direct observation, performance, and/or analysis of customer feedback
- Creating/modifying SOPs and training videos/presentations following GP lumber standards by researching current processes.
- Schedule and support in conducting refresher trainings around key strategic areas (HOP, Hazard Recognition, etc.)
- Develop, drive, and track all onboarding and training activities to ensure completion within specified time frame.
- Maintain accurate records of all training related documentation such as compliance training, rosters, evaluations, and Certificates of Completion.
- Develop and maintain yearly training plan and department training matrix with all employees.
- Facilitate and partnering with all new hire onboarding training.
- Ability to work nights and weekends to cover training needs.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
Requirements:
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in an educational field, organizational development, human resources, safety, leading teams, technical writing, or business management
- Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
What Will Put You Ahead
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- One (1) or more years of training experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge and experience with training and skill building software programs
- Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- One (1) or more years of experience conducting Gap Analysis and Needs Assessments
- One (1) or more years of experience developing and implementing training curriculum.
