On-Site Client Design Specialist

Your Role at Pivot
As an On-Site Client Design Specialist, you will play a key role in partnering directly with our clients in the field at their facilities to achieve seamless moves, adds, and reconfigurations of their existing workspaces. Your expertise in contract systems furniture will be essential in ensuring that our client's evolving needs are met while adhering to our company's processes and procedures. You will work on-site as an extension of our client's team, maintaining a high level of professionalism and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.

In Addition, You Will  

• Assume responsibility for the overall completion of projects under the supervision of the Primary Client Point of Contact, including but not limited to the following:
• Collaborate with clients to understand their specific workspace needs, preferences, and requirements, identifying an accurate project scope of work.
• Establish and manage design project budgets, and project scope, and coordinate deliverables with internal Pivot team members, client representatives, and external project partners as required.
• Provide prompt and effective communication and follow-up on assigned projects.
• Complete and document site verifications and furniture inventories
• Create and update as-built drawings, schematic floor plans, furniture thought starters, technical furniture drawings, installation drawings, and project-specific furniture, fabric, finish, and typical approval packages.
• Contact vendors and obtain product pricing and quotations.
• Create and update project-specific furniture specifications and furniture inventory pull lists; perform specification audits (double checks)
• Collaborate with internal Pivot team members, including sales, project management, procurement, and installation teams, to ensure a smooth project workflow from design conception to final installation.
  Proactively identify project risks, offering creative solutions and alternatives; work with the client representative to execute next steps and evaluate results.
• Champion design operational excellence by implementing established design process and documentation standards; manage and record billable hours in client’s project database and Pivot’s project database; cultivate efficiencies and reduce errors.
• Demonstrate proficient time management skills; effectively address competing priorities and urgent situations, making sound decisions in short timeframes with appropriate action and guidance from the Primary Client Contact.
• Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.

We’re Excited About You If You Have

• 5+ years of professional experience and a bachelor’s degree in architecture or interior design from an accredited 4-year university or equivalent combination of education and industry experience, including a proven track record of successful projects.
• Proficiency in understanding building systems, building codes, electrical, and cabling.
• Familiarity with commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of Interior Design.
• Working technical knowledge of Herman Miller, Knoll, and ancillary furniture lines.
• Ability to use and read a tape measure or laser tape measure to take site dimensions (width, length, and height to the nearest 1/16 of an inch).
• Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent graphic presentation skills.
• Proven track record of success in maintaining and growing client relationships and a sense of business acumen to advise and guide clients as required.
• Strong, persuasive communicator with excellent verbal presentation skills and the ability to communicate complex concepts to colleagues and clients.
• Proficient and demonstrated ability to use CET Designer, AutoCAD, 2020 Cap, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and PDF editors. PlanGrid is a plus.
• Knowledge of the total project process, including fee and project team management, schedules, and budgets.
