Job Description
Agilent NASD (Nucleic Acid Solutions Division) is an industry leading CDMO in DNARNA, and siRNA therapeutics. The Oligonucleotide Materials Expert is a critical role within NASD Supply Chain, responsible for evaluating, onboarding, and maintaining suppliers and direct-production materials.
The Oligonucleotide Materials Expert assures the procurement of manufacturing (direct) materials and services in accordance with Agilent NASD procedures, global company requirements and management objectives.
Within this role you will perform a wide variety of procurement and strategic sourcing activities including purchase order (PO) placement, price negotiation, supplier relations, purchase order maintenance, damaged or missing goods resolution, and assist the Finance and Accounts Payable (AP) team with invoice payment resolution.
Responsibilities:

• Works on Procurement assignments with broadly defined objectives
• Contributes to the development of sourcing requirements to support synthetic chemical nucleic acid manufacturing. Researches, evaluates, and supports qualification of products and materials from new and existing suppliers
• Understands and evaluates supplier-s process control strategy used to ensure raw material specifications and quality
• Applies knowledge of organic chemistry to evaluate manufacturing suitability for starting raw materials (such as solvents, reagents, and small molecules), including evaluation of impurity profiles
• Negotiates cost of materials and purchase terms and conditions, as needed
• Supports Agilent-s Supplier Performance Measurement Process and work with suppliers to drive continuous performance improvement
• Monitors supplier performance and takes appropriate action with suppliers, including issuing of SCARs, to resolve issues in timely manner
• Collaborates cross-functionally within Agilent NASD and partners with suppliers to ensure they can support Agilent NASD-s continuing, rapid business growth
• Contributes to cost reduction efforts to reduce supply chain cost/cost of goods (COGS), while maintaining a continuing reliable source of supply
• Develops, communicates, and implements rolling-forecast requirements with critical suppliers

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree or equivalent
• Post-graduate, certification, and/or license may be required
• 8+ years relevant experience for entry to this level
• Knowledge and experience with analytical control strategies and quality specifications for production of small molecule raw materials and reagents used in synthetic API manufacturing
• Knowledge of organic chemistry and ability to understand and interpret analytical data from HPLC, GC, UV, and mass spec. to evaluate suitability of small molecule raw materials for synthetic API production, including understanding of impurity profiles
• Knowledge of or ability to learn Supply chain ERP systems (SAP preferred)
• Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP)
• Proficiency with sourcing, negotiation, supplier communications, and customer service skills

Preferred skills:

• Master's degree (M. S.) in chemistry or organic chemistry with eight years of life science work experience in a strategic sourcing or technical procurement role
• Extensive knowledge and experience with analytical control strategies and quality specifications for production of small molecule raw materials and reagents used in synthetic API manufacture
• Demonstrated education, training, and work experience utilizing analytical data from HPLC, GC, UV, and mass spec.to evaluate small molecule raw materials and reagents including in-depth understanding of the chemical identity of impurities and their likely impact on synthetic API production
• ISM CSP, APICS CSCP/CPIM, or equivalent professional certification preferred
• Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement certifications and/or work experience preferred
• Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) and International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) Q7 guidelines as well as international regulations pertaining to the production of APIs and drug products.
• Experience and knowledge managing supplier contracts

Work environment

• This position supports the Agilent NASD Business. NASD has production facilities in Frederick, Colorado and Boulder, Colorado
• Travel may be required on an infrequent basis

$100,720.00-$157,375.00
