The SPD Technician is responsible for maintaining high standards for decontamination, assembly, inspection, and preparing the surgical instruments/equipment for sterilization. The SPD Technician maintains consistency and continuous workflow between the OR, Central Processing, and the facility as a whole while practicing above-average customer service. Performs duties as an SPD Technician independently works proficiently without supervision, and is qualified to train new employees. Works in conjunction with the Pharmacy to re-supply crash carts with IV fluids and medications. Serves as a resource to all CSSPD customers. Also responsible for cleaning, and issuing patient care equipment and supplies.
