As an Offshore Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in conducting surveys and collecting accurate data for various offshore projects. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of survey data, as well as assisting in the planning and execution of survey operations.
Responsibilities
- Preparing and organizing survey equipment and instruments for offshore operations.
- Conducting offshore surveys using various techniques and equipment, such as multibeam echo sounders, sidescan sonars, and survey-grade GPS systems.
- Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting survey data to generate accurate maps, charts, and reports.
- Performing quality control checks on survey data to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Assisting in the planning and coordination of survey operations, including vessel mobilization and demobilization.
- Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure the successful completion of survey projects.
- Maintaining and calibrating survey equipment to ensure accurate measurements.
- Adhering to safety procedures and industry best practices during survey operations.
- Keeping abreast of advancements in survey technology and techniques.
- Preparing and presenting survey findings to clients or stakeholders.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working as an Offshore Surveyor.
- Bachelor's degree in Geomatics, Surveying, or a related field.
- Proficiency in surveying techniques, instrumentation, and software.
- Strong knowledge of hydrographic surveying principles and practices.
- Experience with multibeam echo sounders, sidescan sonars, and GPS systems.
- Ability to analyze and interpret survey data and generate accurate reports.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards related to offshore survey operations.
- Willingness to work on a rotational schedule and travel to offshore locations as required.
