Job Summary
The Offshore Completion and Intervention Sr Engineer will fill an integral role in the Offshore Completion and intervention team leading well planning activities and provide daily engineering support to the rig and/or offshore team. They will be responsible to design fit-for-purpose completions to achieve the objectives safely and cost-effectively. Primary tasks include performing risk assessments and peer reviews for operations, generating detailed plans and procedures, working with procurement and contract teams, applying best practices, performing after action reviews, assisting in problem solving/troubleshooting during well operations and working within the BSEE/BOEM framework on permitting of wells.
The Offshore Completion and Intervention Sr Engineer will work in our Houston Corporate office and may work two (2) days a week remote.
Responsibilities

  • Design and install sand faced completions (including all sand control applications) and upper completions (including intelligent completions, surveillance equipment, subsurface control, etc.)
  • Tubular design and stress analysis
  • Design and execute workovers (through tubing, remedial, etc.)
  • Optimize completion and workover designs and operations to achieve objectives
  • Prepare time and cost estimates (budget, LRP, AFEs, etc.)
  • Perform risk assessments for operations, new rigs, deviations from standard practices/equipment, etc.
  • Supervise completion and workover operations and support the rig site team
  • Work within multi-disciplinary teams to achieve objectives
  • Work in both corporate and field environment
  • Generate detailed procedures for installing the well equipment and performing the operation
  • Conduct multi-discipline peer reviews, HAZOPS, CWOPS, Risk assessments, etc.
  • Evaluate real-time data (as required)
  • Work with the Procurement and Contract Teams to develop bid packages and evaluate same
  • Review and apply completion best practices and lessons learned to all operations
  • Perform lookbacks/after action reviews of all operations to continuously improve on operational/cost efficiency
  • Assist in problem well reviews/troubleshooting to derive solutions and achieve objectives
  • Champion safety and quality service
  • Offshore/shop visits to supervise activities (as required)

Licenses/ Certifications
  • Willing to attend and be able to pass HUET (Helicopter Underwater Egress Training)
  • Well Control Certification, preferred

Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Minimum 10 years engineering experience in oil and gas industry
  • Minimum 5 years of deepwater completions, workover, and intervention experience
  • Solid knowledge and practical experience in the Deepwater Completions discipline
  • Ability to perform all job responsibilities with little supervision
  • Ability to work in a team and positively influence others
  • Strong commitment towards HSE
  • Knowledge of GOM regulations relevant to well operations
  • Strong communication, teamwork, self-initiative and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to adapt to changes and new challenges
  • Prepared to work in a fast-paced work environment with an emphasis on timely delivery, cost consciousness, interactive work style and sound execution
