Employee is administrative support for BCDC. In addition to being the first line of contact for patients, this employee performs both clerical and non-clerical duties, registering patients, interviewing patients to determine need, preparing case forms, and ensuring complete file management and preparation for medical billing.
Essential Functions:
- Works well as a part of the support team.
- Maintains a comfortable, neat environment for patients in our lobby at all times.
- Registers and checks in patients, which includes interviewing for essential information needed for proper mammography screenings, preparing forms and completing registration of patients. Working on mammography specific software, and Quickbooks for medical billing and other office equipment.
- Responsible for maintaining patient charts in electronic health records EHR. Creating discs for patients when requested from outside facilities, updating EHR with follow up records and all follow-up necessary to ensure timely processing of films and patient follow-up.
- Reviews physician orders regarding assigned patient exams and assures that medical charts are adequately prepared for mammography exams with completed and required paperwork.
- Networks with other agencies or clinics by making and receiving referrals for services. Daily coordination of referrals to and from radiologists, including review and follow-up for pathology reports.
- Assists with patient follow up
- Assists marketing with event planning, Gala , Woman’s Affair, Walk and Wine etc.
Other :
- This position requires working rapidly under time pressure and working rapidly for long periods as patient census demands.
- Exhibit professional behavior when representing BCDC at all times.
- Attend staff meetings, training, in-services.
- Maintains a safe, harmonious, environment for all employees at BCDC.
- Participates in fund raising activities, advocacy and public relations as needed.
- Performs other job related duties as assigned.
