As an Office Associate II at the Bureau of Alcoholic Beverages and Lottery Operations (BABLO), you will be critical to the regulation of this growing industry. You will go to work every day knowing that you are an important part of a team that keeps the people of Maine safe.
This is entry-level regulatory work which offers the opportunity for career development and advancement- both within the Bureau and across Maine state government. This work primarily consists of data entry and support for the Spirits Operations Manager. Typical daily tasks and duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Creating and maintaining spreadsheets
  • Preparing materials for presentation at monthly Liquor and Lottery Commission meetings
  • Reviewing discount requests from agency liquor stores
  • Corresponding with members of the industry and the public
  • Reviewing and assisting with on premise data collection
  • Assisting with the online Seller and Server Certification program

KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Ability to:

  • Create Excel worksheets and perform data entry
  • Ability to work with Microsoft Word and Power Point
  • Communicate clearly and effectively, including writing concise reports and composing standard business correspondence
  • Ability to work independently
  • Understand and follow oral and written instructions


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: (Entry level knowledges, skills, and/or abilities may be acquired through, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO the following coursework/training and/or experience).
Training, education, or experience in office and administrative support work that demonstrates 1) competency in applying a solid knowledge of modern office practices to perform complex, varied office support tasks, and 2) the ability to use independent decision-making on the appropriate processes to follow, information to process, and actions to take in accordance with standard procedures. All positions in this classification assume the qualifications of: Office Assistant I, Office Assistant II, and Office Associate I.

  • Gym Membership Reimbursement – Improve overall health with regular exercise and receive up to $40 per month to offset this expense.
  • Health and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts – Set aside money pre-tax to help pay for out-of-pocket health care expenses and/or daycare expenses.
