OEM Account Managerwill be responsible for working closely with Key Automotive Client Account engineering and purchasing, identifying new growth opportunities for existing and new resins, working closely with client materials engineering to obtain new material approvals and building relationships with key Automotive OEM and Tier 1 suppliers that support major Automotive OEMs. The successful candidate will be extremely motivated, competitive, and passionate about winning, with a mixture of technical and sales experience.
OEM Account Manager Responsibilities:
- Building strong relationships and strategic partnerships with OEM personnel to assess customer needs and to recommend appropriate products to clients and their Tier I’s. Single point of contact for all contacts at a major client account including purchasing, engineering, sustainability and research/innovation.
- Identification and prioritization of potential opportunities where has a strategic advantage or opportunity to support OEM.
- Work closely with Engineering and R&D to support new material development initiatives with Ford and to support, deliver and gain approval for clientmaterial approval packages to improve presence on client’s Approved Source List (ASL).
- Manage new RFQs supporting OEM and their Tier I’s and create, deliver and follow up on customer quotations.
- Manage projects utilizing APQP process to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery while efficiently working with support functions within (production, pre-production lines, R&D, finance, quality and purchasing)
- Respond and take action regarding OEM quality concerns and/or issues.
OEM Account Manager Requirements:
- BA/BS degree plus minimum 5 years professional experience supporting plastic automotive projects/products
- Minimum of 3 years of customer-facing experience with Automotive OEM interiors, exteriors or battery-electric vehicle projects/programs.
- Extensive direct experience working with major Automotive OEMs such as Ford, GM, or similar.
- Strong analytical, decision making and problem solving skills
- Strong computer (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc) & math skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills – unafraid to lead large group customer meetings.
- Highly organized and ability to multitask
- Willing and able to travel to meet customer requirements (locally)
- Must have a customer oriented mindset (do what is best for the customer)
- Strong internal cooperation and team player focus, with emphasis on project success rather than individual successes.
