Delaware State Beach Patrol Ocean Rescue Lifeguards are responsible for ensuring the safety of beachgoers at Delaware State Parks’ four beaches: Cape Henlopen State Park, Delaware Seashore State Park – Tower Rd & South Inlet Day Area, and Fenwick Island State Park. Full-time from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Guards will be paid throughout all training and competitions with ample opportunities to gain new skills, build professional networks and leadership experience, and increase pay grade. In the day to day, our guards are responsible for:
- Evaluating environmental conditions on the beach/ocean and advising beachgoers of safety hazards
- Surveying the ocean and beaches for dangerous conditions or behaviors
- Administering basic or advanced first aid and responding to emergency situation
- Continued physical fitness training
Pay & Perks

- Additional pay incentives for advanced certifications provided by DSBP or fluency in a 2nd language
