Title: Ocean Import
Company: Japanese freight forwarder
Salary: 45-55K base
Hours: Mon-Fri, 9 am to 5 pm
- Handles Export Accounts by obtaining export rates, shipping schedules, and vessel space per client request; by making booking arrangements with steamship lines and co-load partners; by initiating and maintaining files on shippers and their shipments; by inputting shipment data into computer system; by obtaining complete bills of lading; by processing and sending all necessary documentation to the proper locations to facilitate Customs clearance; and by processing payment and initiating billing procedures on each file.
- Delivers Client Satisfaction by performing traces; by contacting shippers on the phone; by filling out documents correctly; and by undertaking other various functions to assure on-time delivery of freight to all customers.
- Serves Customers by answering the telephone quickly; by greeting customers in the office when necessary; and by otherwise communicating with the customer in a professional manner that solidifies the business relationship.
- Bachelor's degree in related field or 2-3 years of experience in the field
- Basic computer skills in MS Office
- CargoWise (enterprise system) is a plus.
