This is a part-time position working Monday-Friday, 5p-9m.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Performs therapy procedures and care plans, in accordance with accepted standards, under the direction of a licensed therapist.
- Plans indvidual treatment schedules to ensure optimal use of staff and equipment for the provision of high quality patient services.
- Monitors patient's response to therapy or treatment; recognizes regression or progression and reports pertinent information to the appropriate staff.
- Provides direct patient care; performs treatments in keeping with the patient's individualized plan of care.
- Participates with other members of the patient care team to plan for the continued care, support and follow-up of the patient after discharge.
- Participates in professional activities and organizations to maintain knowledge of current trends, practices, and developments.
- Observes organizational and universal standards for infection control in carrying out daily responsibilities, including the proper cleaning and sterilization of surfaces, equipment and instruments.
- Conducts in-service programs, provides other staff with training and serves as a clinical instructor to students.
- Attends team conferences when appropriate; works cooperatively with other team members to maintain consistency in the provision of high quality, result oriented service.
- Supervises support staff.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduation from a Occupational Therapy Assistant School accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA).
- Certified as a Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in the state of Georgia.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association required.
Salary: $26.50- $46.02/hour
The grade and salary of the position are based on specific criteria met within the qualifications of each level, relevant experience, skills, performance and internal equity. This position is eligible for shift differentials.
