Heaven's Angels Services is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to join a skilled nursing facility. As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will promote and maintain the health of patients by providing Occupational Therapy services under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. Responsibilities include helping patients improve their quality of life by helping them compensate for limitations and obtaining, updating, and studying therapy histories. Responsibilities
- Help Occupational Therapy clients by providing rehabilitative services to persons with mental, physical, emotional, or developmental impairments
- Help clients improve their quality of life by helping them compensate for limitations, such as helping injured workers improve their motor skills and re-enter the labor force
- Follow the treatment plan developed in collaboration with an Occupational Therapist by teaching techniques, such as the proper method of moving from a bed into a wheelchair, and the best ways to stretch and limber muscles
- Maintain patient Occupational Therapy records by recording clients progress for use by the occupational therapist
- Schedule, confirm, and cancel appointments
- Build relationships with clients to assist them with meeting their wellness goals
- Ensure a clean and safe facility
- Comply with all applicable standards, rules, and regulations.
Qualifications
- Passion for helping others achieve long-term wellness and results through physical therapy
- Previous experience in a therapeutic setting
- Able to stand for long periods
- Physiological knowledge
- Organizational skills
- Comfortable with performing therapies on diverse clients
- Strongly service-oriented with an ability to communicate effectively with clients in a one-on-one setting
- High level of ethics and integrity.
