- Provides ongoing Occupational Therapy services to IEP recommendations and as directed by the supervising Occupational Therapist, including gathering of information and equipment/materials for OT evaluation, consulting with and training educational staff related to OT interventions, delivery/placement, utilization, and maintenance of equipment and materials required for OT services and provision of direct OT services.
- Maintains a system of documentation that is professional, efficient, and accountable, and that conforms to district policy
- Maintains and is accountable for therapy program inventory
- Provide ongoing training of school staff related to specific tasks that support occupational therapy goals and objectives for the program to achieve established goals and objectives
- Participate in program development activities as directed by the lead therapist
- Perform all duties related to the Title II grant at 100%
- Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Associate of Applied Science Degree from an accredited university; valid Texas license as an
- Occupational Therapy Assistant issued by the Texas Board of
- Occupational Therapy Examiners.
- Successful completion of formal school based pediatric affiliation or alternate pediatric experience
- Evidence of participation in continuing education within the scope of pediatric school-based practice
- Knowledge regarding federal and state regulations related to the provision of occupational therapy services in the school setting
- Demonstrated competencies in pediatric occupational therapy service delivery in education setting
- Demonstrated strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
