Job Description
The Occupational Therapist is responsible for guiding hand patients through evaluations, treatments and splint-making. We are looking for candidates that have a current CHT and want to jump-start their career in the healthcare industry and understand the value of providing quality patient care here in Southwest Florida. Our goal is to provide effective, efficient, caring, and superior patient care.
Responsibilities of this position include:
Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of patients with hand and upper extremity conditions to develop personalized treatment plans.
Therapeutic Interventions: Administer specialized hand therapy interventions, including manual therapy techniques, custom splinting, wound care, and therapeutic exercises, to promote optimal recovery.
Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on proper home exercises, self-care techniques, and injury prevention strategies.
Collaboration: Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, surgeons, physical therapists, and occupational therapy assistants, to coordinate comprehensive care plans.
Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting progress, treatment outcomes, and any necessary adjustments to the treatment plan.
Research and Stay Informed: Stay current with the latest developments in hand therapy techniques and share this knowledge with the team.
Supervision: Provide guidance and mentorship to Therapy Techs and students in the field of hand therapy.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Must hold a valid Florida Occupational Therapy License
Certification as a Hand Therapist (CHT) through the Hand Therapy Certification Commission (HTCC) Preferred.
Experience:
1-3 years working as a Hand Therapist

Willingness to adapt to the needs of the clinic and patients.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong computer skills including EMP software.
Team player that is willing to help wherever needed, ability to multi-task, and willingness to learn.
