- OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST JOB SUMMARY
- An Occupational Therapist evaluates, plans, implements and directs individualized occupational therapy programs on patients with various integumentary, musculoskeletal, developmental and neurological dysfunctions. Interacts with patients, staff, physicians and the public in a professional manner. Delegates treatments appropriately, and supervises support staff. Provides patient, staff, and family education. Documents status and progress of patients. Participates on multidisciplinary team to correlate comprehensive patient care processes. Provides care to infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics based on knowledge of growth and development of various populations in inpatient, outpatient, and/or pediatric clinics and schools. Delegates work load appropriately with necessary supervision to COTA and support staff.
Outpatient clinicians are not required to work in the inpatient rehabilitation setting and will therefore not be required to complete a respirator mask fit test. If the employee does work in the inpatient setting a respirator mask fit test will be required.

- OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Education and/or experience: Require current Occupational Therapist license in State of Tennessee by the Division of Health Related Boards. Current Thermal and Electrical modality certification recommended. CPR required.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of basic growth and development. Knowledge of information, techniques, principles, methods and procedures needed to diagnose and treat injuries, disease and physical dysfunction. Knowledge of human behavior and performance.
- Skills: Actively listens by giving full attention to what other people are saying. Talks and writes effectively and concisely to convey information effectively. Uses critical thinking to assess alternative methods to address a problem. Monitors and assesses performance.
- Abilities: Uses deductive reasoning to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers. Able to listen and understand information presented in oral fashion. Able to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions.
