With minimal supervision, for both PS and NAMc 24/7 production facilities, this position performs varied and integral administrative tasks within the EHS department. This role requires in-depth knowledge of facility manufacturing operations, corporate policies and procedures as well as a working and in depth knowledge of OSHA compliance. This role partners with both frontline associates and plant leadership to successfully implement EHS Department goals and initiatives to reduce injuries and create a positive safety culture. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures. Regular, punctual attendance is an essential job function. Ability to read and write and converse in English. Willing and able to uphold BD Values.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Plan, coordinate and execute Hearing and Vision Testing for all plant associates per policy.
2. Plan, coordinate and complete noise monitoring.
3. Coordinate and execute Physical Capacity Profile testing as needed. Coordinate and execute onsite Drug Screens per policy.
4. Maintain medical filing system.
5. Serve on the Safety Committee.
6. Execute and track controlled document revisions and tracking of revisions for safety documents.
7. Regularly audit PPE to ensure compliance.
8. Audit safety procedures and JSAs.
9. Perform monthly housekeeping and facility audits to ensure facility is "inspection" ready.
10. Act as a liaison with training department to ensure all safety trainings are current.
11. Develop an understanding of the necessary rules and regulations of OSHA and EPA, as well as company and industry loss prevention standards, providing facility supervisors with input on pertinent changes as necessary. This will include attending pertinent safety training seminars as needed.
12. Develop a good working relationship with all associates and supervisors so they are comfortable in sharing EHS related concerns and issues. Facilitate/lead employee engagement initiatives.
13. Facilitate/lead EHS improvement projects in support of plant objectives and risk management efforts.
14. Track and report identified metrics, objectives, and trends in support of continuous improvement for the EHS area.
15. Other duties as required to support the needs of the business.
Minimum Education:
  • Associates Degree EHS, Safety or related, preferred

Minimum Experience:
  • 2 years' experience in a regulated manufacturing environment preferred.
  • COHC (Certified Occupational Hearing Conservationist) preferred, or within 1 month of employment.
  • 10 hour OSHA Training preferred
