Community Health Alliance is looking for an Obstetrician/Gynecologist (OB/GYN).Join our talented team of healthcare providers that focus on serving the community and helping those in need by creating healthy outcomes for patients of every income. 

 

We operate six convenient locations throughout Reno and Sparks, providing comprehensive, top-quality medical services, dental and pediatric care, behavioral health, low-cost pharmacies, nourishing food pantries, and more. 

 

Job Description:  Responsible for diagnosing and treating various medical conditions that impact women’s health.  Provides comprehensive, outpatient services for OB/GYN patients on a continuing basis in the ambulatory setting.  Duties include diagnosing and monitoring illnesses and diseases, providing medical support to pregnant women and performing routine check-ups on patients of Community Health Alliance.

Education and Experience:

  • Graduate of an accredited medical school and Board certified in obstetrics and gynecology.  Must be licensed or have the ability to become licensed in the State of Nevada. 
  • Minimum two years practice experience preferred
  • Bilingual Spanish is preferred.

Essential Functions

Essential Functions:

  1. Performs OB/GYN medical care as described by the clinical guidelines of CHA. This may include;
    1. Diagnosing and treating conditions that affect women, such as certain types of cancer and conditions like menopause
    2. Performs variety of procedures in the clinic
    3. Promotes health by educating the patient regarding child birth process, reproductive health, postpartum care and prevention of disease
  2. Refers patients to consultant services as needed
  3. Informs patient and patient family of risks associated with procedures and assures signatures are obtained in accordance with CHA policy and procedures
  4. Provides emotional support, compassion and is sympathetic to patient needs
  5. Assist in triage for walk-ins, calls-ins and urgent patients
  6. Participates in the development of medical protocols
  7. Reviews medical protocols and provides input based on research and experience
  8. Ensures compliance with HIPAA, OSHA & other regulatory agencies
  9. Monitors competency of support staff’s clinical skills and knowledge
  10. Ensures medical equipment and emergency medical equipment is in good working condition
  11. Ensures adequate supplies and sterile equipment is available to meet the needs of the clinic and the population it serves
  12. Participates in quality assurance/improvement reviews of medical records
  13. Participate in quality management projects; as requested
  14. Working with expecting mothers to explain the childbirth process
  15. Perform other duties as assigned
