Form of workAt NorthBay Healthcare the Obstetrical Technician (OBT) is responsible and accountable for scrubbing for all OB surgeries in Labor & Delivery. In the absence of the unit clerk the OBT also performs unit clerk functions to include general clerical and reception duties.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Utilize sterile technique to surgically assist physicians with such procedures as c/sections and tubal ligations.
- Function effectively during obstetrical emergencies.
- Prepare the surgical and delivery rooms and for assisting with patient care duties as assigned.
- Works in collaboration with the entire healthcare team to provide each patient and family member excellent customer service.
