Job Summary and Qualifications: OB Tech Part-Time Nights 6p-6a (2-12 hour shifts per week)
As the OB Tech in Women’s Services you will deliver high quality, patient centered care in a variety of services related to common nursing functions. Our team is amazing and we consider ourselves a family, we are looking for someone who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do. In this role:
- You will assist the surgeon during C-sections and ensure the surgical suite is adequately prepared for C-sections.
- You will consistently assist the patient care team with maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment making sure labor and delivery and or Mother/Baby rooms are adequately stocked and prepared.
- You will clean, wrap, and sends all instruments to Central Sterile for sterilization.
- You will obtain or assist the nursing staff as needed.
- You will follow patient and employee safety/security policies and protocols, including hand hygiene, use of universal precautions, use of personal protective equipment, and adherence to isolation procedures.
- You will participate in department process improvement activities.
What qualifications you will need:
· American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
· Certified Nursing Assistant license required.
· Completion of Surgical Technologist course preferred.
· Surgical Technologist Certificate preferred.
· One year of CNA experience preferred.
· One year operating room experience preferred.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
