The Endoscopy Technician has a limited technical background and performs routine patient care activities and related non-professional services in the care of sub-acute and acute patients undergoing endoscopy procedures. The Endoscopy Technician works under the direct supervision of a registered nurse. Knows philosophy and objectives of the nursing department and supports these premises. This position treats/cares for patients of all ages. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of the Organization. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The employee shall support the Organization's strategic plan and the goals and direction of the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).
- Demonstrates proficiency in the role of scrub technician in Endoscopy, has a knowledge of basic anatomy, sterile
technique, and set-up of all procedures, and all equipment. Trouble shoots equipment when necessary. - Supports clinical practice standards ie:, airway maintenance, patient positioning, proper handling of specimens.
- Demonstrates good judgment in utilizing resource personnel.
- Provides assistance to nursing and room support personnel.
- Adapts to change and problem solving on a daily basis.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Must have a minimum of six (6) months healthcare experience
- BLS-CPR
- CSPDT or CFER
Pay Range
$28.64 - $31.49 /hour
