GENERAL FUNCTION

Work with production, engineering and technical support to maximize machine uptime for injection molding machines and automation equipment in order to run to quality standards and meet all production goals as set forth in the daily schedule. Assure all safety and housekeeping procedures are followed. Communicate potential hazards as well as reporting all quality, equipment and scrap issues to supervisor/manager in a timely manner.

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • On-time performance of molding machine and automation startups as dictated by the schedule.
  • On-time performance of Military mold and/or material changes by pulling tools from storage racks and setting/removing tools from the molding machine as dictated by the schedule.
  • Perform process troubleshooting, part inspections and various other functions to insure part conformity and quality.
  • Troubleshoot, conduct part inspections and other various functions to maintain quality standards
  • Setup, start, monitor and troubleshoot injection molding machines and automation equipment
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, repair/replace and test automation systems, components and networks
  • Perform mold set ups, start-ups, troubleshooting, moisture content inspection, laser printing set-up, Sepro robots and other auxiliary equipment on conventional and dual injection molding machines
  • Work with the process techs, material handlers and quality in maintaining stable processes to produce quality parts.
  • Work with leads and material handlers to complete mold changes and material changes to reduce minimize production downtime

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associates of Applied Science degree or certificate in scientific injection molding or industrial automation, robotics, PLC or Equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience working in the plastic injection molding industry as a Process Technician or Equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year of programming and troubleshooting multi-axis robot
  • RJG training
  • Ability to read, understand and communicate in English language to ensure adherence to documented procedures and current specifications is essential.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience utilizing a computer terminal or personal computer
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Experience with injection molding in a production environment preferred
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, cost effectiveness, and other techniques to ensure efficient production of quality products.
  • Knowledge of Arburg touch screen injection molding machines
  • Knowledge of dual injection units molding machines
  • Experience with programing Sepro and Yumi Robots
