What is Job Corps? It is the country's most extensive nationwide residential career training program and has been operating for over 60 years. The program helps eligible young people ages 16 through 24 complete their high school education, trains them for meaningful careers, and assists them with obtaining employment. Job Corps has trained and educated over two million individuals since 1964.
Oneonta Job Corps offers training in; the medical trades: Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, and Medical Administrative Assistant, Automobile trades: Auto Body Collision and Repair, Auto Technician, Auto Mechanics; Construction Trades: Tile Setting, Cement Mason, and Electrical, Advanced Trades: Overhead Line Electrical, Rural Underground Distribution, SMART Meter, and our Drone Piloting Program.
Position Available: Admissions Clerk in Syracuse, NY
Part-Time Monday - Friday 4-Hours/Day 20-Hours/Week
General Duties:
- Maintain calendar and schedule appointments
- Send/receive incoming/outgoing mail
- Follow-up on dates for action items
- Type business letters, reports, etc.
- Compose and prepare routine correspondences for signature
- Maintain confidential files and records
- Attend departmental meetings, take notes/meeting minutes
- Order and maintain office supplies and equipment
Skills/Qualifications:
- Ability to generate standard business letters, forms, and presentations
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written
- Meticulous documentation skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to Multi-Task
- Proficient in the use of computer software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Ability to operate office equipment
Educational Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Prefer 2-3 years of experience. Compensation is based on experience
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record
