We are looking to hire a third person in our Personal Lines Department at MGM Associates of Rochester. This job is fully remote, but since this is a new job position for our agency, we highly stress the basic and prior on-the-job requirements per sections listed below for applying candidates. Our agency is looking for an applicant that enjoys helping customers with their everchanging personal insurance needs, can be readily available between 8:00am-4:00pm Monday through Friday when service calls come in, engaged in learning new coverage topics, staying up to date with new advances in the insurance field, and comfortable using technology required in our day-to-day process. This position is geared towards having a self-sufficient work ethic with the experience obtained throughout insurance career as well as optimism in day-to-day interactions with co-workers, customers, dealerships, banks, realtors, underwriters, etc. Most importantly, look at a customers whole account and give it the same level of significance as you would your own insurance coverage.

Responsibilities

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Servicing current customers requests and determining if need to handle on own or can distribute to team members.
  2. Quoting renewals for agencys entire personal lines book of business accounts with mix of client profiles since will not be assigned an Alpha Split. Based on complexity of the renewal account, determine if need to handle themselves or can distribute to team members.
  3. Receiving new leads/referrals into agency by any source and assigning them to either self or Account Manager/CSR to quote.
  4. Actively reviews Epic Renewals Manager 30-45 days before renewal dates and reviews account/policies for cross-sells and upsells opportunities to be able to meet their monthly sales minimum requirement of 10 new policy types per month.
  5. Assists with training or aiding Personal Lines Customer Service Representative or Servicing Assistant.
  6. Provide all clients new or renewing flood quotes if currently do not have coverage.
  7. Provide all clients new or renewing umbrella quotes if do not currently have coverage.

Requirements

Basic Requirements:

  1. At current job at least a minimum of 5 years to demonstrate reliability needed for this position
  2. Have over 10 years of personal lines insurance customer service, quoting, overall industry experience.
  3. Must have active NYS Personal Lines and/or NYS Property & Casualty License.
  4. Must have AINS or API designation (or work to obtain within first year of employment).
  5. Self-motivated in certain insurance situations to first: ask insured, second: ask underwriter/main insurance company to contact for questions, and lastly ask outside credible insurance source.
  6. Able to handle difficult scenarios and solve them on own.
  7. Strong drive to cross-sell, upsell, and carefully review customers policy for coverage deficiencies.


Prior On-The-Job Insurance Knowledge Requirement:

  1. Comprehensive understanding of ISO and URB forms and the difference between the two when quoting coverage(s).
  2. Ability to quote & sell all lines of personal insurance coverage such as: auto, home, secondary home, umbrella, boat, classic car, ATV/UTV, 1-4 family rental units, flood, snowmobile, monoline inland marine (jewelry, stamps, coins, etc.), motorhome/mobile home, home-based business, golf cart, RV, special events (weddings, reunions, baby showers, etc.)
  3. Ability to look at current customers account as a whole and can identity what is needed; An example is when umbrella coverage is with different insurance company and need to keep all underlying coverages at a certain limit, keep copies of current underlying declarations attached to the file, and confirm annually with insured of any changes.
  4. Know how to successfully complete on own the renewal/new process for an excess line policy.
  5. Ability to learn an agency management system (example we use: Epic) to document all work & emails, utilizing the renewals manager and using the quoting function within it to quote new and rewrites for customers.
  6. Experience using a electronic document software to get signatures from customers for changes and/or new quotes and documenting back into the agency system.
