Schedule: Must be able to work weekends and holidays; weekday hours also available
Hours: 9:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m., dependent on weather and guest attendance; schedule subject to change through the spring and summer
Position Summary
Security Guards ensure that our guests enjoy a safe experience at Wildlife Conservation Society parks.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Presenting professionalism in uniform while assisting guests that are seeking information, medical assistance or other aid and in a courteous manner.
• Communicating clearly using a portable radio.
• Following instructions and orders from Security Management and other competent authority.
• Completing the Security Officer's Daily Activity Report.
• Will be required to remain at fixed post, a roving post covering a designated area, and entrance/exit gates, as needed.
• Monitoring building conditions for overcrowding, disorderly persons, and prohibited items inside exhibits.
• Completing other assignments as required and helping others on the team
Qualification Requirements
Qualifications
• Must possess a valid New York State Security License
• Must possess a valid 8 hour & 16 hour training certificate
• Basic verbal communication skills
• Presenting a neat, clean and professional appearance
• Dependability and reliability
• Basic math skills
• Basic computer skills
