The City of Cedar Rapids has a few part-time job opportunities available at the NW Recreation Center. They are as followed (Recreations Program Leader for Cultural Arts; Site Supervisor; and Site Assistant). We are looking for energetic individuals with a passion for community service. About this Opportunity

Recreation Program Leader- Recreation program leaders are responsible for teaching classes in a specific skill set.
Site Supervisor/Center Assistant- Recreation Center Assistant and Site Supervisors are responsible for providing general facility oversight during open hours and rentals.
  • Greet everyone who comes in the front door and check in patrons for activities and handle equipment rentals;
  • Register patrons for Parks & Recreation programs and events as well as reservations and rental space;
  • Answers telephone;
  • Performs clerical duties such as filing, copying, and collating;
  • Keep running logs for building usage;
  • Prepares, maintains, and submits reports as required;
  • Prepare deposits from daily receipt fees;
  • Adheres to and enforces facility policies, rules and regulations and educates patrons about them;
  • Assists in the tear down and set up of rooms as needed as well as general upkeep and cleanliness of facility. This includes lifting 5-10lbs, up to 25lbs occasionally;
  • Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with City policies, procedures and safety practices;
  • Attends work regularly at the designated place and time;
  • Supports continuous process improvement initiatives;
  • Performs related work as required.

Acceptable Experience and Training:

  • Requires some experience working with elementary age children and/or adults in group activities; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Work Schedule:
Schedule varies based on program needs. This is a part-time position, with an average of 19 hours/week
