ASU's NVIS Installation Technician is responsible for STC installations, customer support, Engineering Change Orders, Equipment Modification for ICA, and R&D new filtration/modification. Responsibilities
- Ensure all initial and recurrent training is recorded and maintained in accordance with Repair Station Training Manual. Maintain working knowledge of the current Repair Station Manual and all of its contents
- Complete and submit all applicable installation checklists and documentation. Ensure work order documentation is complete and executed in accordance with the current Repair Station Manual and Repair Station Forms Manual requirements
- Submit post-installation photos ensuring that the photos are readable and accurately depict the components of the entire installation (installation details, daylight, night un-aided, class A if applicable, and class B photos). Ensuring that the photos are downloaded to the Cockpit Photos drive within 5 days after completion of installation and return to the ASU facility.
- Update pertinent manuals and Modification specifications as needed, notify Quality and Repair Station Managers as well as ASU personnel of discrepancies/suggestions to ensure that approval for corrections is made correctly.
- Complete accurate expense reports timely
- Ensure all aircraft maintenance is conducted in compliance with CFR FARs, ACs, and other FAA guidance while maintaining a clean and tidy work area
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting to assist Customers and solve technical problems, issues, and discrepancies. Ensure that the Quality and Repair Station Managers are informed of customers’ technical problems, issues, and discrepancies.
- Perform STC pre-installation drawing reviews and participate in creating and updating new/existing Modification Specifications
- Perform pre and post-installation parts kit inventory; Perform post-installation NVIS NVG cockpit evaluation and light leak check; Perform in-house equipment STC modifications, demodifications, and repairs in accordance with approved STC data
- Communicate and coordinate with DERs, DARs, FAA & foreign Civil Aviation Authorities. Act as the liaison during night vision compatible lighting STC modifications
- Must have FAA Aircraft or A&P Mechanics license
- Must have or be able to obtain a valid US Passport
- Must be willing to travel up to 50%
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience working on aircraft
- Experience reviewing drawings
- Experience with NVIS installations in aircraft preferred
- A basic understanding of cockpit evaluations preferred
- Must complete NVG Ground School successfully upon hire
- Understand the safe handling of NVGs preferred
- Must have a general understanding of computers and associated programs Word, Excel, and Adobe
