Job Summary
Using s andardized curriculum ma erials, each food and nu ri ion opics o low income adul s, you h, and/or families as par of he Expanded Food and Nu ri ion Educa ion Program (EFNEP) in a varie y of communi y se ings. Use s andardized evalua ion ins rumen s o assess program par icipan s' knowledge, skills, a i udes, and behaviors o de ermine educa ional needs and program impac s. Refer program par icipan s o appropria e assis ance programs. Recrui program groups hrough collabora ing communi y agencies and programs. Par icipa e in s aff developmen and raining oppor uni ies o enhance knowledge of nu ri ion opics and successful me hods for nu ri ion educa ion. his posi ion is based in he Nu ri ion Educa ion Program's Auburn, MA office.

• Using s andardized curriculum ma erials, each food and nu ri ion rela ed subjec ma er o low income adul s, you h, and/or families of various e hnic and cul ural backgrounds. each par icipan s in groups a communi y se ings including bu no limi ed o homeless shel ers, job raining programs, pregnan and paren ing een programs, schools, summer you h programs, recrea ion programs, af er school programs, YMCAs/YWCAs, and preschool programs. Recrui and enroll groups hrough hese collabora ing communi y agencies.
• Use s andardized evalua ion ins rumen s o assess program par icipan s' knowledge, skills, a i udes, and behaviors o de ermine educa ional needs and program impac s. Use compu er-based sys ems for en ering and racking his informa ion. In erpre and convey assessmen informa ion o par icipan s as par of nu ri ion educa ion ac ivi ies.
• Provide referrals and encourage par icipan s o u ilize assis ance of o her communi y services.
• Presen food demons ra ions and/or nu ri ion informa ion a local farmers' marke s and a communi y-based ac ivi ies as assigned.
• Comple e and main ain required records and repor s for all ac ivi ies. Use compu er-based sys ems for recording and repor ing ac ivi ies.
• Prepare and submi weekly work schedule. Revise and upda e weekly work schedule o ensure accuracy and accoun abili y.
• A end s aff mee ings and in-service raining programs a he local, regional, and s a e level o enhance nu ri ion knowledge, eaching skills, and o her aspec s of work performance.
• May occasionally assis in promo ing he program(s) hrough local media such as elevision, radio, newspapers and o her publica ions.

Minimum Qualifica ions (Knowledge, Skills, Abili ies, Educa ion, Experience, Cer ifica ions, Licensure)

• High school diploma or equivalen .
• Successful comple ion of Criminal Offender Record Informa ion (CORI) background check.
• Possession of a curren and valid Massachuse s Class D Mo or Vehicle Opera ors License.
• Basic knowledge of homemaking skills, including food prepara ion and nu ri ional needs.
• Abili y o read, wri e, and comprehend he English language and abili y o follow wri en and oral ins ruc ions.
• Abili y o perform simple numerical compu a ions accura ely, o prepare repor s, and main ain accura e records.
• Basic knowledge and comfor wi h using compu ers.
