Form of workLeading mental health and substance abuse treatment organization seeks a Nursing Supervisor for their Long Island City program.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the development of the day-to-day management and long-term planning of the patient care area.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary professional staff to implement patient care.
- Provide physical and psychological support for patients.
- Ensure nursing operational standards by contributing information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; and identifying system improvements.
- Provide input on the annual budget, monitors expenditures, performs research on investments in equipment or additional staffing, and identifies variances in departmental costs.
- Maintain nursing guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.
- Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.
- Promote patients’ independence by establishing patient care goals, teaching and counseling patients, friends, and family to reinforce their understanding of disease, medications, and self-care skills.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Registered Nurse
- A minimum of 2 years in mental health or substance abuse treatment experience
Salary:
- $105,000 to $110,000
