JOB SUMMARY:
The Clinical Nurse Informatics Program Manager will support the Department of Nursing with the development and improvement of technology related processes and structures, in order to positively impact nursing practice and standards. The role includes the creation and oversight of organizational EPIC governance, enhancement and build priorities, and working with nursing teams to disseminate structure and knowledge. He/She will work closely with nursing leadership, clinicians and staff to optimize clinical and operational systems by providing expertise in clinical knowledge, EPIC utilization and project/program management. Responsibilities to include (but not limited to) program analysis, designing future state process flows, and leading a governance structure around the prioritization of EPIC build and integration. He/She will need excellent communication skills, an astute understanding of EPIC/inpatient workflows, project/program management experience, and the ability to work collaboratively with partners across the organization and network.
EDUCATION:
Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the State of Vermont is required. The University of Vermont Medical Center is moving toward an all Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) workforce. All external candidates hired into, or current employees promoted to, a RN position will be required to obtain their BSN as outlined in the terms of their offer letter. Current internal RNs are strongly encouraged to pursue a BSN to support this initiative. Master's Degree or applicable certification preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 3 years clinical nursing experience. Implementation and/or support of clinical systems (e.g. EPIC) preferred. Experience with quality improvement/project or program management and the ability to produce effective plans and work within timelines preferred.
