Job Description
Provides quality care for patients as indicated by their clinical condition. Meets the human needs of high-risk cardiac patients by explaining, educating and reassuring the patients throughout the cath procedure. Creates policies and procedures.
During Cardiac Catheterization, performs in the circulator role to include the care of IVs, suction, oxygen, monitoring vital signs and EKG and pressure tracings. Administers medications upon physician’s request and assists patients who experience adverse reactions. Provides catheters and other equipment as requested. Ensures all supplies and procedures are documented and charged appropriately.
Performs in the monitor role by observing and documenting hemodynamic, EKG, and pressure waveforms. Records information related to equipment use, procedural occurrences, and complications that occur during the case. Ensures that time-outs occur prior to beginning procedures.
- Active RN License (FL or Multi-State)
- BLS Certification
- ACLS Certification
- CCRN Certification Preferred
- BSN Preferred
- Previous Cath Lab experience preferred.
- Previous cardiac care nursing experience preferred
- Critical Care experience strongly preferred
- Candidate must have excellent communication and computer skills
- Bilingual (English & Spanish) Preferred
