The Administrator will be responsible for leading a team of caring professionals in the day-to-day operations of this facility. The Nursing Home Administrator has the following responsibilities:

  • Financial performance and management of all business operations of the facility.
  • Developing and implementing quality assurance plans developed by the facility.
  • Understanding the driving factors of the facility's financial performance.
  • Promoting the recruitment, retention, career development and continuing education of staff.
  • Interviewing, hiring, and orienting direct reports.
  • Monitoring productivity of direct reports and implementing changes as needed.
  • Ensuring maintenance of accurate medical records for billing, auditing, and regulatory compliance within appropriate approved guidelines.
  • Establishing effective working relationships with team members, residents, facility and community.
  • Ability to work and act independently, prioritizing, organizing and facilitating team members toward effective solutions.
  • Providing direction and oversight for all aspects of the facility.
  • Leading, directing and managing services and support provided by the facility.
  • Ensuring the facility operations are in accordance with current Federal, State, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern the Long-Term Care Facility.
  • Committee Responsibilities: Member of the Administrators Committee, Quality Assurance, and Status Committee.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualification and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in health care administration or related field preferred from a four year college or university; two years related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Must be a Licensed Administrator in the state of Virginia.
  • Familiarity with medical, legal, and accounting terminology and concepts.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from staff, residents and clients.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardizations exists.
  • Ability to interpret and carry out a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
