Nursery/Stoneyard Loader Operator

Great Lakes Landscape Supply is looking for an experienced skid steer/wheel Loader Operator to help in our nursery, and stone yard. Primary responsibilities include unloading incoming delivery trucks, pulling orders for delivery and pickups, and loading orders for delivery and pickups. Most orders contain either trees/plants, palletized, or loose stacked stone that requires loading or unloading by the piece or pieces. Applicant must be able to safely and efficiently load and unload all types of orders. Some order pulling and loading will require work outside of the loader, such as hand stacking certain items, shrink wrapping pallets, re-burlapping trees, and strapping and unstrapping items on trailers. Extensive skid steer/wheel loader experience with pallet fork attachment is a must! Hi-lo/forklift experience does not translate as experience for this position.

We will often have incoming deliveries, customer pickups, and outgoing deliveries occurring simultaneously. Applicants should be comfortable in a fast paced environment, and be able to multitask, prioritize, and manage their time properly. The majority of this position happens inside the loader, however the work required outside the loader needs to happen in the current weather conditions. Applicants are expected to work in, and are responsible to be dressed properly for any weather conditions.

We offer $19-$20 per hour to start, and are willing to compensate good employees for their hard work with regular raises. There is a 90 day review built into employment at Great Lakes. For very well qualified applicants, starting pay can be negotiated.
