Nursery Sales Manager

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager to provide leadership, strategy, and support to a dedicated and results-oriented inside sales team in achieving overall sales objectives.

Job Functions and Responsibilities:

• With the Director of Sales (who oversees independent sales representatives and broker relationships) help refine and grow existing customer channels and seek new opportunities.
• Set Sales strategy, goals, and monitor progress.
• Help grow and oversee existing online sales program.
• Support relationships with existing customers throughout the year via telephone, mail, email, onsite customer visits, tours, events, and tradeshows.
• Develop understanding of customers’ business needs in order to educate and promote our plants.
• Develop and maintain awareness of industry trends.
• Facilitate the placement of customer orders and monitor fulfillment process.
• Maintain proactive communication with customers prior to shipment to confirm any additional sales and shipment date(s).
• Follow up with customers after shipment to ensure expectations have been exceeded and sell additional product for future shipments.
• Resolve customer issues by investigating problems and developing solutions.
• Other duties as may be assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Requires excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills, both in person and via phone/email
• Experience delivering high-quality customer service and assistance with the intent to always exceed expectations.
• Strong plant identification skills and knowledge
• Detail-oriented and possess basic math and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to think quickly and make decisions.
• Strong computer skills including spreadsheet, email, and word processing programs. Prefer experience with inventory databases (Plantx).
• Team player who takes initiative, seeks responsibility, manages competing demands, and able to adapt to changes in the work environment.
• Willingness to assist with other job duties and assignments, as needed.
• Must be able to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced work environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
