Overview:
The RN - Nurse Educator is responsible to provide the education for the Nursing department to ensure the provision of quality patient care and promote effective team performance. This will be accomplished through participation and design of classes and in-services that meet the standards and goals of Bothwell Regional Health Center.
The RN – Nurse Recruiter is to collaborate with the Nursing Management Team to identify employment needs utilizing job analysis, interview skills, recruitment activities, and retention strategies.
The RN - Nurse Educator / Recruiter reports directly to the RN - Nursing Education Coordinator.
Responsibilities:1.
Act as a role model, mentor and coach to the units’ complement of nursing and support staff as she/he seeks to recruit and retain an appropriate skill mix of qualified, competent nursing personnel.
2.
Assist in the development and implementation of programs/opportunities to enhance critical thinking, clinical judgment, and communication skills for BRHC nursing staff. Support for the Nurse Education Coordinator with grant projects, etc.
3.
Work collaboratively with the CNO, other senior leaders, and the nursing leaders to identify employment needs by conducting job analysis and selection dimension developed by interviewing and/or hiring manager and key job experts providing input when appropriate.
4.
Develop and recommend recruitment and retention strategies which consider critical needs, budgeting factors, available labor pool and influencing factors.
5.
Network and resource with community, schools of nursing and local school systems, to develop and promote the healthcare professions.
Qualifications:Education
- RN Graduate of accredited School of Nursing
- BSN required; Masters degree preferred
Licensure/Certification
- Current RN License in the State of Missouri
- RN/Teaching preferred
- Specialty certification recommended
Work Experience
- 3-5 years RN experience in critical care or emergency medicine.
- 1-2 years experience in education/recruiting
