JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for assisting and providing direct gynecologic and obstetric services to non-pregnant and low/high risk pregnant women and their families during the preconception, childbearing, and postmenopausal process in an outpatient office setting..
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Provide full scope care to women throughout their reproductive lifespan (if applicable).• Provides individualized, family centered care to low and high-risk pregnant women and their families throughout the childbearing process within the outpatient setting.
• Provide collaborative care for patients whose medical or obstetrical status dictates direct physician involvement in the care and treatment of the patient.
• Obtains complete medical history and physical data on patients.
• Interprets and integrates data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as needed.
• Performs a complete physical exam and records findings. Collaborates with providers in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients.
• Orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures.
• Synthesizes data to determine diagnosis and therapeutic plan utilizing principles of prevention.
• Interviews and advises patients regarding health and illness prevention. Recommends helpful resources to meet patient and family needs.
• Instructs patients and family regarding medications and treatment instructions. Provides patient education.
• Maintains and reviews patient records, charts, and other pertinent information.
• Provides monitoring and continuity of care between visits.
• Have a working knowledge of ICD-10, CPT coding and managed care, and be available for training as necessary.
• Performs office and inpatient procedures as appropriate.
• Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.
• Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
• Follows the guidelines related to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), designed to prevent or detect unauthorized disclosure of Protected Health Information (PHI).
• Performs other duties as assigned.
