Nurse Practitioner - Podiatry

• Provider must have minimum of 2 years of practice in outpatient setting - willing to train the right candidate wanting to specialize.
• High elderly population
• 29 patient hours, 3hrs of admin time
• EMR is Meditech Expanse, Dragon dictation
• Supported by an RN Team leader and medical assistant
• Large Podiatry Team

Podiatry Minimum Requirements:

• Duties would include: provision of routine and diabetic foot care both in the office and other community settings, wound care (with the expectation that he/she would work toward certification), assistance with postoperative care, and other general podiatric services
• Elicit and record physical and mental health status, psychosocial history, and review of body system.
• Perform Physical examinations on patients of all ages.
• Initiate appropriate diagnostic tests for screening and evaluation of patient’s current health status.
• Assess patient history, systems review, physical examination, and diagnostic tests.
• Formulate a diagnosis, implement a plan of care, and manage treatment regimens.
• Continuously plan, teach, promote and manage both the physical and mental health of the patient.
• Administer, prescribe, and dispense pharmacological agents.
• Arrange appropriate referrals to other care providers.
• Stabilize patients in life-threatening or unusual situations until emergency transport can be arranged.
• Document all services provided in the patient’s medical record.
• Provide wound care in the Healogics wound center, documenting services in the IHeal record.
• Provide routine and diabetic nail care in various settings throughout the North Country Healthcare service area, as well as postoperative and general care for podiatric patients.
• Attend and participate in departmental, hospital, and community based committees and task forces.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
