JOB DETAILS
- Perform history and physical examinations of oncology patients, provide accurate assessment and evaluation of oncology patients, and implement appropriate treatment plans under established protocols and physician supervision
- Work with patients to Identify the optimum treatments that will be both tolerable and effective
- Apply chemotherapy and new treatments including target and immunotherapy to patients
- Work with patients to utilize all resources available including infusions and specialty medications
- Coordinate with other specialists both locally and at renowned academic centers
- Provide assistance as office management in the doctor’s absence
REQUIREMENTS
- Detailed background in oncology clinical medicine Ability to independently prioritize work with minimal direct supervision
- Professional communication skills including English speaking and writing to ensure clear communication
- Experienced using an EMR/EHR system (electronic health record), word processing and spreadsheet programs to manage and retrieve patient information
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision in the outpatient environment while performing a variety of tasks
- Experienced in proactively organizing, coordinating, and following complex clinical regimens
- Skill in communicating and translating medical information to patients and their families in a clear way they will understand, including giving patients and families an understanding of their medical condition and what they might expect in the future.
- Knowledge and proficiency of the English language sufficient to read medical reports and records with comprehension and to prepare reports and correspondence
- Professional ability to interact effectively and communicate accurately with patients, colleagues and referring physicians
- Skill in working as part of a team and collaborating with colleagues
- Ability to perform effectively under conditions of fluctuating workload and frequent interruption
- Skill in prioritizing assignment to complete work in a timely and accurate manner
- Proactively learn and follow practice and Hospital policies and procedures related to functions and responsibilities of the position
LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
- Graduated from an accredited MSN or PA program with a focus in Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (acute care, Family or Primary program required)
- National NP or PA certification required
- Current CA RN ,NP/PA License, BLS, DEA License
SCHEDULE, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- Full Time Schedule Monday-Friday with rotating weekends
- Salary: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year depending on experience
