Job Summary and QualificationsOur team of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) is dedicated to providing exceptional patient-centered care. Working alongside physicians, they function independently in all aspects of patient care within occupational health clinics and on-site locations. Our APPs include Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists, Clinical Nurse Specialists, and Certified Nurse Midwives. They are valued members of our hospital patient care team, providing a high level of medical care and performing surgical tasks within the scope of practice as determined by the state and clinical privileges granted by the hospital/entity. Our APPs embody our organization's vision, mission, and values to deliver unparalleled patient experiences and clinical outcomes.
What you will do in this role:
- Clinical judgment and reasoning are used to diagnose patients, develop treatment plans, and manage care across the health continuum. Progress notes recorded. Provides and manages direct patient care or virtual care, including physical examinations, medical history reviews, and assessments.
- Recommends and provides medical treatment and services to patients/clients with injuries or illnesses related to workman’s compensation.
- Orders non-scheduled medications. Orders scheduled medications (II-V) as permitted within state and federal regulations per relevant specialty and certification.
- Performs procedures in accordance with defined qualifications and competencies based on licensure, related state practice act, and approved hospital/entity privileges.
- Explains medical conditions, treatments, medications, and follow-up steps in easy-to-understand terms. Performs DOT physical according to FMSCA standards and related documentation and certification
- Communicates to the employer or responsible party all updates related to the management of workers' compensation injury care.
- BLS certification required.
- Active Indiana APRN license with Prescriptive Authority required.
Occupational Health and/or Acute Care nursing preferred
Graduation of an accredited school of nursing
Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
