Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (APRN) Role Scope  

The General SurgeryPhysician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (APRN) will work in an ambulatory setting as a part of a team of physicians and APPs who specialize in General Surgery. Responsibilities include:

·        Patient management will include new patient consults, short and long-term post-operative follow up, inpatient transition of care rounding, and coordination of patient care across multiple disciplines.

·        In addition, a percentage of patient management is comprised of in-office procedures including skin and soft tissue mass excisions, incision and drainages and complex wound care.

·        Additional responsibilities will include assisting with system quality initiatives.

·        OR time offered

General SurgeryPhysician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (APRN) Enjoy

·        Full Time – Monday through Friday Schedule – No weekends – No call

·        Primary office – Willimantic with possible periodic travel to session space in Tollland

·        The opportunity to work with highly complex surgical patients in an ambulatory setting, developing long-term relationships with patients and their families across the continuum of car

Qualifications

·        Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (APRN) Master’s program preferred

·        Licensed, or eligible to be licensed, as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (APRN) in the state of Connecticut

·        Certification or eligible to be certified as a Physician Assistant, or National Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (APRN)

·        Previous surgical experience in plastics, general, or colorectal surgery preferred
