Summary:
The Nurse Manager of the NICU and PICU unit is responsible for the clinical practice and personnel management. The Nurse Manager shall have the knowledge, authority, accountability and responsibility for the management of patient care with respect to the unit. The Nurse Manager has the authority and oversight for the provision of neonatal services through all phases of care. The Nurse Manager facilitates the Cook Children's promise by ensuring an environment of caring, regulatory compliance, safety, and quality outcomes. Responsible for the provision of patient and family satisfaction and employee engagement.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- If bachelor degree not in nursing, applicant must possess Master's Degree in Nursing.
- A minimum of two years clinical experience with previous management experience preferred.
- Current permit or license to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas
- Advanced certification in field of specialty preferred
- Current BLS, NRP, or PALS as per unit specialty as outlined in policy.
