Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for executing the details of the educational program and to present the subject matter effectively: Field and office trainings
- Nurse Educator will instruct certification classes per the standards of the EOEA requirements: HHA,PC,SHCA, HMK
- Provides necessary educational and learning opportunities within a supportive environment that will assist personnel in gaining knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to perform assigned duties safely and effectively.
- Strong computer skills including but not limited to ability to navigate Outlook/Teams platforms.
- Basic knowledge of connecting laptops or similar devices to large monitors or TVs for screen mirroring.
- Advanced understanding of basic office applications, including Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Maintenance and management of tracking systems to ensure compliance.
- Ability to generate, develop and maintain trackers, sign up sheets, checklists, etc
- Ongoing management of class enrollment
- Diligent oversight of prerequisite training needs
- Coordinate with other departments (Human Resources, Operations, Payroll, Compliance, etc) in a timely manner
- Remain up to date with the latest home care regulations and adjust the program accordingly
- Completes new hire skills assessments per EOEA requirements
- Responsible for proctoring and grading final certification exam
- Responsible for analyzing, organizing, and adapting training and educational materials.
- Work with Nursing, Compliance and Human Resources department to identify education and training opportunities.
- Conducts in person in-service sessions.
- Nurse Educator will provide fields support as needed
- Other Duties as assigned.
- Current RN or LPN license in the state of Massachusetts
- Maintain licensure and training requirements, by attending CEU and updated re-education programs as needed
- Responsible for having considerable knowledge of teaching and training techniques
- Must be a skilled verbal and written communicator, leader and motivator
- Able to organize and prioritize many tasks effectively
- Previous experience in education/staff development preferred
- 5+ years of Nursing/Home Care experience preferred
- Must have a thorough knowledge of Home Care environment
- Must have thorough knowledge and understanding of PC/HHA techniques and practices
- Must have basic computer skills
- Must be willing to work adjusted work schedule as needed
- Frequent Local Travel
- Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions
- Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids and infectious diseases.
- Prolonged periods of walking, bending and climbing
- Must be able to stand for up to 30 minutes at a time.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
